The Allendale Community For Mature Living operates the Senior Social Club, an
adult day care program for area seniors. The program, which opened in May of
2000, operates Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in
The
Atrium, a residence that features luxurious, residential living. This program
affords area seniors the chance to interact socially with other senior adults,
enjoy a delicious meal and participate in a variety of activities throughout
each day.
The Senior Social Club offers round-trip transportation and a variety of in-house
activities such as lectures, literature, exercise classes, day trips, movies
and music. In addition, day care participants will receive a nutritious breakfast
and enjoy a full-course luncheon menu prepared by The Atrium's chef and served
in the dining room.
Seniors also have access to
The Atrium's newly-enhanced
facilities: The Atrium Diner, a 1950's-style diner complete with jukebox
and neon lights, serves coffee and other snacks throughout the day; golfers can
practice their strokes on a nine-hole putting green in the courtyard; and those
who prefer indoor activity can amuse themselves in the Arcade, a room featuring
billiards, table-top shuffleboard, pinball and slot machines.
This opportunity is ideal for seniors who live with their adult children. It
allows families to work or attend to daily affairs knowing their parents
are benefiting from a full curriculum of programs managed by a professional staff.
This social club enables older adults to meet new friends, enjoy hobbies and
explore new areas of interest. It is a program that benefits the whole family.
The Senior Social Club's primary goal is to maximize independence for each participating senior while providing a comfortable, warm and homey environment. Programs and services are designed to help participants maintain their full potential. The activities director and staff supervise programs.
Every day is an opportunity for learning, socializing and enjoying, and the Senior Social Club offers older adults friendship and camaraderie among peers. Anyone interested in registering for the adult day care program may contact the Community at (201) 825-0660.
